Come along to gain insight into modern produce handling and automated packing facilities at the Mr Apple Ltd packhouse. They're the largest vertically integrated Apple Company in New Zealand exporting over 4 million cartons of apples annually.

  • They operate 2 packhouses in Hastings 15 minutes apart; with staffing levels of around 65 staff per shift.
  • Both sites operate two 10-hour shifts six days a week, Sunday to Friday.
  • Saturday is their main maintenance day and they have 7 engineering staff across the 2 sites.
  • Their planner is based at their larger site, with 3 staff members based at each site in a combination of trade-qualified and apprentice engineers.
  • Both sites have the most up-to-date grading technology and automated palletising systems.
