YES WE CAN: HOW KIWIS WILL SWITCH TO RENEWABLE GAS NETWORKS AND APPLIANCES
Presenter: Dr Grant Bourke
Grant is a mechanical and hydraulic engineer who looks after larger water heating jobs at Rinnai. He has nearly 40 years experience in the gas and appliance industries, and has been a member of the New Zealand Institution of Gas Engineers for 35 years.
Grant completed an NZCE at Unitec and a mechanical engineering degree and subsequently a PhD at The University of Auckland. His PhD looked at how best to Incorporate Rinnai Infinities into renewable energy water heating systems.
Grant is a two times winner of the NZIGE Horrocks medal for best technical presentation at the Spring Seminar.
When not working Grant can usually be found messing about in boats, attempting to lower his golf handicap, or riding his bicycle.
About the webinar:
We’ve done this before. In the 1970s, the North Island made the transition from “town gas” produced in local gasworks to a very different networked natural gas supply. What does that transition teach us about the next transition of our networks and appliances to renewable gas? We examine the lessons from history, and the modern appliances and technologies that will shape our next transition to renewable gases.
