Event Overview:
Parakiore is one of the Christchurch Blueprint projects which were proposed following the 2010 and 2011 Canterbury Earthquakes. The facility will contain a 50 metre competition swimming pool, dive pool with 10m dive tower, learn to swim and leisure pools and hydroslides, show court and community courts, and facilities for various tenants including Sports Canterbury and High Performance Sport New Zealand.
During the visit we will be walking through the various zones within the facility, including the competition and leisure pool areas, pool water and mechanical services plant rooms, the show court, fitness and movement studios, running track and throwing areas, and High Performance Sport NZ area. Construction is continuing through all areas of the building with some areas nearing completion.
Attendees are welcome to join us for a drink at the Pegasus Arms after the visit.
PPE requirements:
- Safety footwear is essential
- Hard Hat
- Safety glasses
- High Visibility vest
- Hearing protection (ear plugs) to be carried
- Long-sleeved shirt and pants (denim or cotton)
All attendees are required to bring their own PPE
