The Te Puna Hapori Whanganui Courthouse is under construction. Currently Naylor Love are constructing the large raft foundation designed to support the courthouse building on a challenging and complex site. Naylor Love have invited the local branch of Engineering NZ for a site tour and to see the construction and hear about some construction challenges the project has had to overcome. The site visit will be followed by a presentation from the projects Geotechnical Engineer at the Whanganui WSP office on the geotechnical design process, challenges and lessons learnt.

The site visit will take place from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm followed by pizza, drinks and a presentation at the Whanganui WSP office from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

If you have (or know of) any young school leavers wanting to see what a career in civil engineering is like they are welcome to attend with a member of our branch.

Please note: Please wear a high vis vest, steel cap boots, safety glasses and a hard hat.
