The Sports Performance Hub (now rebranded “The Mill”) is a combined gymnasium and consultation space to cater for Queenstown’s high demand for physiotherapy support. Designed by Warren and Mahoney the building has a footprint of 1800m2 with a distinctive sawtooth roof profile and exposed glulam structural members – beams, columns, diagonal braces and purlins. The glulam timber was sourced from Austria after Cook Brothers tendered in New Zealand and Australia to find the best supplier.

The primary structure is now complete but still visible so it’s a good time to come to site and hear from the structural designers (Holmes) and the Contractor (Cook Brothers).

Drinks and nibbles provided after the tour. Location TBC.

PPE requirements: Please bring your own hard hats and dayglo vests. Closed toe shoes are fine.

Event Co-hosted by Engineering New Zealand and SESOC.
