New Zealand Diploma in Engineering Practice (NZDEP)

The New Zealand Diploma in Engineering Practice (NZDEP) is a work-based qualification assessed on the job through the Industry Training Organisation best aligned with a trainee's chosen engineering major and industry sector.

The qualification tests the practical application of engineering knowledge and skill in a particular industry sector. It has been benchmarked to the Engineering New Zealand competence standard for independent practice as an engineering technician. NZDEP graduates are eligible for Chartered Membership (Engineering Technician) of Engineering New Zealand without any further assessment.
