If you don't have a Washington, Sydney or Dublin Accord-accredited qualification, you may be able to demonstrate equivalence.
Accord equivalence is where your qualifications, credential or an assessment outcome are recognised by Engineering New Zealand as demonstrating engineering knowledge that is equivalent to an Accord-accredited qualification. This is possible through our mutual recognition agreements with overseas engineering organisations.
Washington Accord equivalence
A Washington Accord-accredited qualification or equivalence is the engineering education requirement for Chartered Member and Chartered Professional Engineer.
You can demonstrate equivalent knowledge to a Washington Accord-accredited qualification through:
- a recognised qualification or recognised credential
- evaluation of your engineering knowledge as part of a knowledge assessment.
Sydney Accord equivalence
A Sydney Accord-accredited qualification or equivalence is the engineering education requirement for Chartered Member (Engineering Technologist).
You can demonstrate equivalent knowledge to a Sydney Accord-accredited qualification through:
- a recognised qualification or recognised credential
- evaluation of your engineering knowledge as part of a Chartered assessment.
Dublin Accord equivalence
A Dublin Accord-accredited qualification or equivalence is the engineering education requirement for Chartered Member (Engineering Technician).
You can demonstrate equivalent knowledge to a Dublin Accord-accredited qualification through:
- a recognised qualification or recognised credential
- evaluation of your engineering knowledge as part of a Chartered assessment.
