Engineering New Zealand is seeking expressions of interest for an appointed Māori member on our Governing Board.

Over the past two years, Wharehuia Dixon has brought valuable te ao Māori insight and governance expertise to the Board. With his term now complete, we’re looking to appoint a new Māori member to continue this important mahi.

This appointed role will strengthen the Board’s cultural capability and support its commitment to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi. We’re looking for someone who brings deep understanding of Te Ao Māori and who can contribute to governance across the full scope of our work.

We are seeking expressions of interest from Māori members with:

  • Knowledge of Māori worldviews (Te Ao Māori, including tikanga, kawa and te reo Māori)
  • A strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Governance and/or strategic leadership experience
  • Stakeholder engagement and influence, including strong networks and credibility within Māori communities

If you bring these skills and are passionate about shaping the future of Te Ao Rangahau, we’d love to hear from you.

Expressions of interest close Wednesday 7 May. You can apply by emailing a cover letter and your CV to our Board Secretary (board.secretary@engineeringnz.org).
