Nanogirl AKA Dr Michelle Dickinson will be delivering the 2015 IPENZ Pickering Lecture Series in a national tour of seven centres in November and December. She will be talking about Nanotechnology and how discoveries made under powerful microscopes are fuelling progress in many aspects of our lives, from medical breakthroughs to designing technology for a sustainable future.

Our exciting 2015 Pickering Lecture series “Nanogirl and the Incredible World of Nanotechnology” ended in style, drawing huge crowds to the final events in Wellington and Timaru. If you didn’t make it to one of the lectures, a video of the full lecture is now available.

The lecture is a fascinating introduction to Nanotechnology and explains how the manipulation of matter, only visible under powerful microscopes, is leading to incredible technological advances.

Dr Michelle Dickinson, AKA Nanogirl, is a senior lecturer in engineering at The University of Auckland where she runs New Zealand’s only nanomechanical testing laboratory.
