We know our technical expert groups have an important role in supporting many of you and promoting and advocating for your interests and concerns. And we have an important role to play in supporting these groups.

To improve how we work with groups and to enable them to better support you, we are currently undertaking a Groups Strategy Project. Together with our groups, we are designing a roadmap for how we will work together in the future, to ensure we collectively address the needs of members and support better engineering outcomes for New Zealand.

This project looks to improve integration between Engineering New Zealand and our groups, and to enhance operational management of the groups. We are also looking at ways to expand the reach of the groups and connect our membership with the work of the groups.

To do this, we will review our work with groups, provide recommendations for improvement, and design a strategy and plan. We will be approaching this work collaboratively – working closely with members of the groups and staff of Engineering New Zealand.

This work is already underway – we are currently working closely with group management committee members and staff to gather information to inform our strategy.
