Take the time to check in with yourself, us and your partner on how the relationship is going. Are you both meeting each others expectations? Are you on track to meet your goals?

Reflecting and tracking progress

Reflecting on each meeting will help you understand what you might need to do in your next meeting to get closer to achieving your goals. You should reflect on the agreed actions, progress towards those actions, and how you're tracking towards your goals.

As a mentee, you should think about what you did, what happened and what you would do differently next time.

As a mentor, you should think about areas you might need more knowledge in, any additional support or encouragement the mentee might need and how you might recognise and celebrate their successes.

Reviewing the partnership

As the partnership progresses, it’s important to check in with yourself and your partner to make sure the expectations you agreed to are being met and you’re getting the benefits you need.

We recommend you do this on a quarterly basis. Prior to the conclusion of one of your meetings, agree that you will spend some time at the next meeting to review the relationship. This will give you both time to prepare so you're able to discuss openly and honestly.
