The ‘BlackRoom’ foresighting and backcasting projects carried out in February helped set the medium-term strategy for Engineering New Zealand to 2030 and a long-term vision for the organisation to 2050.
The purpose of this research was to identify and describe global meta-trends, critical uncertainties, market's innovations and their implications that are likely to influence the business and sectors Engineering New Zealand is currently involved with and to propose new directions for the coming decades.
The project was initiated by the Engineering Practice Advisory Committee
It involved representatives from the Governing Board and leaders from Engineering New Zealand, and informed Engineering New Zealand’s Strategy for 2022–2050 below
