Earlier this year, you told us what you think we should be focusing on. We’ve listened.
You’ve told us we need to focus on CPD, strengthening the Chartered Professional Engineers system, advocacy, and offering more choice when it comes to your development and how you interact with us.
There’s also a clear need to focus on programmes to address global issues and lead the profession, better integration of Groups, and ensuring we have the resources to provide the best possible value to you.
Strategy 2024–27 puts your needs as a member first, even more than before. We’ve taken your ideas to inform our new, three-year strategy, with four focus areas.
- Relevance for members is key. We will expand CPD offerings and revitalise event offerings to you to prosper with rewarding careers and great experiences.
- Leadership of the profession is our focus area for raising the voice of the profession through advocacy, modernising the CPEng system and Engineering New Zealand Rules/regulations, and leading on global challenges like climate change and AI.
- Engagement and partnership ensures Groups are better resourced to be technical or special interest powerhouses of the profession. We will also look for opportunities to expand partnerships, so that the membership is better placed to meet future challenges.
- Organisational excellence. This focus area is about strengthening registration and back-office functions that support members and Chartered Professional Engineers.
Our strategy is exciting and ambitious. Much as the strategy provides certainty of direction over three years, it would be unrealistic to think we can deliver everything in a single year.
As such, we’ve set strategic priorities for 2024/25, 2025/26 and 2026/27, to help phase what we deliver. This coming year will prioritise the CPEng Rules Change Project, delivering member journeys, improving your user experience, and delivering a Groups strategy.
